Above. View from the back of Munna Creek Hall. It has had some ‘Tender Loving Care’ from local families and the Fraser Coast Regional Council of late. They are warming up for an amazing social revival. Don’t miss out!
The recently re-formed Munna Creek Hall and Recreation Assn Inc. has been busy... and is rife with descendants of the original builders, way back in 1906.
It is not only the oldest community-used building in the Fraser Coast Regional Council area, but two years older than Maryborough City Hall! The hall has run into a bad state of disrepair over the years but with some very enthusiastic members and volunteers, and some incredible help from the Fraser Coast Regional Council, the old hall is looking much better nowdays.
A celebration of functions and festivals are planned to revive the old SPIRIT of the Hall as well.
NEW MEMBERS WELCOME
Munna Creek Hall & Recreation Association meetings are held the third Sunday of the month at 6pm and new members are certainly welcome! Questions? Phone Bronco Jensen. 0429912154, or email scj7@bigpond.com.
Munna Creek Hall comes to life again.
June 2011.

On Saturday 8th May, the termites and cockroaches who have had the run of the Munna Creek Hall for around 20 years, got their eviction notice big time. A group of Australian Country Music Artists donated their time to perform in front of an appreciative crowd of around 80 country music lovers in a prelude of what is to come when the Munna Creek Country Music Festival comes to life on 20-23 October.
Previously held in Widgee, the festival will cater to the music tastes of around 1,000 festival goers on both the main concerts on both the Friday and Saturday nights. Camping will be available on site with food and drink stalls over the whole 4 days. For more information about the Munna Creek Country Music Festival, please phone Lex K on 0741293145.
The Munna Creek Hall was built in 1906 making it two years older than the Maryborough City Hall. In it's hayday, the hall was the focal part of this small rural community situated around 20 mins drive west of Bauple. It served as a dance hall, cricket venue, school hall and a meeting place for Munna Youth Fellowship. Over the years, the hall became disused as the younger generation moved from the family farms to attend college and university. Now these young ones have returned to take over the family farms bringing with them their own young ones.
A very enthusiastic band of locals have now leased the hall and with the fantastic help of the Fraser Coast Regional Council, have received some grant money to start the restoration process. The roof has been replaced, most of the external walls have been painted, windows and doors replaced or repaired and some of the stumping replaced. The Maryborough Bunnings store have donated kitchen cabinets so the old hall is slowly coming back into shape.
