Gundiah Memorial Hall Association
Gundiah Memorial Hall was officially opened in 1922. It was built by the community buying shares in the project and with land donated by Mr Scarrot, the original landholder . See article in August 2009 Gundiah Gazette. It was renamed again in 2012 as Gundiah Memorial Hall Association by it's 90th anniversary. It included Gundiah Community Inc under it's umbrella in 2015.
Gundiah Gazette Articles April 2013:
HAVE YOU SEEN OUR DIVISION 2 COUNCILOR PLAY PUNK MUSIC?
Neither have we, but for a few bob he will, apparently!
If some of you recall he said that he would love to play in our area (he told us this when he was looking for votes) and we heard that he was a muso and played in a band in his younger days and still liked strumming his fiddle in his spare time, but alas he gets very little spare time since he got voted into the FCRC. But we, the committee, don’t forget those statements and promises (Farmers never forget).
So he was challenged to play for 10 min at the party night and your flock will donate to the hall restoration fund. We think he is worth $2000. So dig deep into your moneyboxes so we can keep the hall together for another 90 years, its our heritage for the next generation.
